Did you know April is Environmental Awareness Month. Going green. Save the planet. Reduce, reuse, recycle. We hear these phrases all the time, typically we think of the environment. Worth Exteriors and Interiors is focussed on building green. We are utilizing greener building materials in roofing, siding, and windows. Families can not only benefit the environment, but can also increase the comfortability of their home, support the health of their family and greatly reduce costs.

Across the country, we need to start making a difference to help our home planet and the homes we live in. Let’s start with Metal Roofs. Below are three reasons why we want to help our clients make their homes greener.

  • Energy Efficiency. Cool metal roofs have been shown to reduce interior cooling costs by as much as 20%, with peak demand cooling reduced by 15%.
  • Longevity and Durability. Metal roofs have the highest ratings against hail and fire damage, lowering your home insurance costs.
  • Smaller Carbon Footprint. Not only are most metal roofs made from recycled content, they’re also recyclable again at the end of their lifespan. This reduces the need to plumb resources in order to make new materials and decreases the amount of waste going into landfills as a product of home building. By comparison, the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 11 million tons of asphalt shingles end up in landfills every year.
